Launch a coin
Every field on the create form, what happens after you approve, and how long each step takes.
The form
| Field | Rules | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Image | Any picture format | Fitted, never cropped. Etchify makes a 512 px image for the web and a logo of at most 4 KiB for Bitcoin, compressed hard (and softened if needed). |
| Name | Up to 32 bytes | Locked at launch. Other coins may use the same name. |
| Ticker | 2 to 10 letters or numbers | Stored in capitals. Other coins may use it too. |
| Description | 1 to 512 characters | Stored in the metadata and in the Bitcoin inscription. |
| X, Telegram, website | Optional, https:// links | No website: the coin's Etchify page becomes its website. |
| Rune name | Optional: Bitcoin chooses or Choose a name | A chosen name is checked live (open on Bitcoin, not etched, not being etched on Etchify) and sealed until it is etched. See Rune names. |
| Paired with | ETH or cbBTC | What the coin's pool trades against, fixed at launch. A cbBTC coin is priced in Bitcoin and still traded with ETH here. See Coins on cbBTC. |
| Your 1% creator fee | To me, Split (up to 10 wallets) or To holders | Fixed on chain at launch, paid in the pair's currency. See Creator fees. |
| Dev buy | Optional | The coin's very first trade, inside the launch transaction, so you are always first. |
| Lock your dev buy | Keep, lock 7 days to 1 year, or burn | Locked tokens stay in the launchpad until the date; burned tokens go to 0x…dEaD. Nobody, Etchify included, can release a lock early. |
Every Etchify Rune uses Bitcoin's generic symbol ¤.
Your coin's address ends in e7c4
Every Etchify coin is created with CREATE2 at an address ending in e7c4, "etch" in hex. Etchify finds the salt for your wallet when it prepares your launch, which takes a fraction of a second.
An address ending in e7c4 is a style, not proof. Anyone can make one. To be sure a coin is a real Etchify coin, open it on Etchify or check that the launchpad created it.
What you pay
Launching is free: no platform fee. You see one price in ETH: your dev buy (if any) plus the Bitcoin cost of etching your Rune at the current Bitcoin fee rate (× 1.5) and the live BTC/ETH price. Your wallet also pays Robinhood Chain's normal network fee. The quote is signed by Etchify and valid for 10 minutes; if it expires, nothing is charged.
After you approve
| Step | What happens | Typical time |
|---|---|---|
| Live on Robinhood Chain | The coin is created, its Uniswap v4 pool opens with the whole supply, that liquidity is burned to 0x…dEaD, the Bitcoin cost is paid and your dev buy is made, all in one transaction. Trading opens. | Seconds |
| Rune etched | Etchify checks the coin on chain, then etches the Rune with your logo inscribed. Etchings run one at a time. With a chosen name, the name is first committed (sealed) and revealed six blocks later. | Usually the next Bitcoin block or two; about an hour more with a chosen name |
| Final on Bitcoin | Etchify waits for 6 confirmations. | About an hour |
| Bridge on | Etchify registers the coin with the bridge and links its Rune ID, forever. | A minute after final |
Trading on Robinhood Chain never waits for Bitcoin.
If anything on chain differs from what was quoted (creator, curve, metadata, supply or the Bitcoin cost paid), Etchify stops that launch for a manual check instead of guessing. Nothing is lost.
